01 — What it is

What SEO Audit Services Include, And Which Version You Need

The short version: one report across technical, content and competition, and a plain answer to which of our three audits fits you.

SEO audit services check everything that decides where your website ranks. That means the technical build, the words on your pages, the links pointing at your site, and the competitors sitting above you. The output is a written report that says what is wrong, what it costs you, and what to fix first. Nothing about that is mysterious, so nobody should sell it to you as if it were.

This site has three audit pages, because they are three different jobs. The free SEO review is the quick, no-obligation one: it flags the obvious problems and asks nothing in return. The technical SEO audit goes deep on one layer only, checking whether Google can crawl, load and index your site properly. This page is the full version. It covers that technical layer, then adds your content, your backlink profile, and a straight comparison against the sites that outrank you.

The full audit earns its keep when the cause of a problem is not obvious. Rankings that slid after a redesign, say, or traffic that never recovered from a move to a new domain. If the problem is already staring at you, though, start with the free review instead. Paying for answers a free check would have given you is a waste of your money.

02 — The inventory

Every Check In The SEO Audit, Named Up Front

Most pages selling SEO audit services keep the scope vague, then ask you to trust that the word detailed means something. We would rather show the list. The audit covers five areas, and here is what each one actually contains.

Five areas, spelled out

  • The technical layer. Crawlability, indexation, page speed, mobile usability, structured data, redirects and duplicate content. It is the same ground our technical SEO audit covers, folded in whole.
  • On-page and content. Titles, headings and meta descriptions across the site. Then the harder question: which page targets which search, and where two of your own pages compete with each other.
  • Backlinks. What points at your site, what looks spammy, and how your link profile compares with the sites above you.
  • Competitors. Who actually outranks you, term by term, and what their pages carry that yours do not. Our SEO competitor analysis page shows this piece in detail.
  • AI search visibility. Whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews can read and cite your site. Most UK audit pages we compared do not mention this at all. Our own AI visibility audit treats it as a subject in its own right.

To do the job properly we ask for viewer access to your Google Analytics and Search Console. Viewer access cannot change anything, but it lets us work from what Google actually records rather than from guesses.

03 — Tool vs person

Why A Proper Audit Beats A Free Tool Export

Here is the fear nobody types into the enquiry form. Paying for SEO audit services might get you a free tool's export with a logo on the cover. The fear is fair, because that product exists and gets sold every week. So it is worth being precise about what a tool cannot do.

A crawler flags everything that breaks a rule, and it treats every flag the same. It cannot tell you which of two hundred issues actually cost you enquiries, and which are noise a healthy site can carry for years. That judgement is the thing you are paying for. A person checks each flag against the live page, your data and Google's own published rules. Many of the scary errors in a raw export break none of them.

Judgement matters most when something has gone wrong. After a Google update, a redesign or a site migration, traffic rarely falls for a mysterious reason. Something specific changed, and the audit's job is to name it. Once it is named, the fix stops being guesswork, and so does the cost of fixing it.

04 — How we work

How Our SEO Audit Services Work, Step By Step

How our SEO audit services work is not a secret method, and we will not dress the steps up with a trademark. It is a three-step process, and you see the output of every step.

First we crawl the whole site and pull your Analytics and Search Console data in alongside it. Then a person reads every flagged issue against the live page, because this is where false alarms go to die. Last comes the report and a debrief call, where we walk the findings through in plain English and answer whatever the report raises. Nothing goes into that report unless a person has looked at it. That is slower than exporting a PDF, and better in every other way.

A full audit usually takes about two weeks for a normal-sized business site. Larger or messier sites take longer, but you will hear that before we start, not halfway through. While the audit runs you only need to answer the odd question about your business. Context changes how we rank the findings. If two weeks is too slow for a launch date, say so. We will tell you honestly whether the free review covers you for now.

01

Crawl and collect

Every page crawled, plus your Analytics and Search Console data, so the findings rest on what Google actually sees rather than guesswork.

02

A person reads every flag

Each flagged issue gets checked by hand against the live page, so false alarms die here instead of padding out your report.

03

Report and debrief

A prioritised fix list in plain English, walked through on a call, so you leave knowing what to do first and why.

05 — What you get

The SEO Audit Report, The Debrief, And Who Does The Fixing

Most SEO audit services end when the PDF lands in your inbox. Ours ends after the debrief call, because a list of findings without an explanation is just homework. The report itself is a working document, not a hundred-page file designed to feel expensive. We map every issue to the pages it affects. Then we order the list by two things at once: how much it matters and how much work it takes. Quick wins sit at the top, so your first afternoon of fixes is the one that pays back fastest.

What happens next is your call, and we mean that. Hand the report to your own developer and never speak to us again; people do, and it is a perfectly good outcome. If you would rather we did the fixing, we quote that separately once the scope is clear. Or we fold it into managed SEO month by month. Nobody here is paid to upsell you after the debrief.

Proof you can read before paying

We are a young UK agency and will not pretend to a wall of case studies. Instead we published the work itself: a full teardown of Bupa's search visibility, built on real data, which nobody asked us to write. Read it and you will know whether our idea of thorough matches yours. The 5.0 score from 102 Google reviews sits under our original name, Digital Movement Australia. We label it that way on purpose, because proof you have to squint at is not proof.

06 — What it costs

What SEO Audit Services Cost, Here And Elsewhere

Most agencies hide this part. Here is the market rate, our price, and what moves the number.

UK agencies that publish a price for standalone SEO audit services charge between about £500 and £2,500 plus VAT. The size of the site decides where in that range you land, but most agencies publish no number at all. We think silence on price is a poor start to a relationship built on telling you the truth about your website.

Our own model is simpler. £495 a month is the Starter SEO retainer, rolling monthly with no lock-in. The full audit is the first thing that retainer pays for. There is no point building content or links on a site nobody has checked. So the audit arrives as month one of the ongoing work, not as a fee on top. The pricing page sets this out in full.

If you only want the audit

Ask, and we will scope it as one-off work with a quote before anything starts. What moves the number is size and mess: page count, an ecommerce catalogue, extra languages, a history of migrations. What never moves it is padding. For the wider market picture, audits included, our guide to what SEO costs in the UK covers the lot.

07 — The limits

What An SEO Audit Will Not Tell You

An audit is a diagnosis, not a cure, and it has limits worth naming before you pay for one. It cannot predict your future rankings, because nobody outside Google can. It cannot see every piece of competitor data, because Google hides plenty from every tool on the market. And it cannot fix anything by itself, because a report nobody acts on changes nothing but your bank balance.

Some sites should not buy one at all. A brand-new site with ten pages has nothing to audit yet. Better to spend that money building the pages an audit would tell you to build. Nor does a healthy site need re-auditing every quarter. Once a year is plenty for most sites, or after a migration, a redesign or a serious Google update. Between those moments, the right spend is fixing what the last audit found, not buying the same findings twice.

None of this makes SEO audit services a bad buy. It makes them a specific purchase, and specific purchases deserve sellers who say where the edges are. That is also why our wider SEO work starts with an audit but never ends there.

What we will not do

No invented scores, no scare tactics, no audit you don't need

We will not pad a report to make it feel worth the invoice. We will not colour a dashboard red to frighten you into a retainer. And if the free review shows your site does not need the full audit, we will say so. A client who trusts us next year is worth more than an invoice this month.

08 — Questions

The Questions People Ask Before Buying An SEO Audit

Straight answers, money included.

What do SEO audit services actually include?

Our SEO audit services cover five areas: the technical layer, on-page content, backlinks, a competitor comparison and AI search visibility. A person checks every flagged issue by hand. You then get a prioritised fix list in plain English and a call to walk through it. The full inventory is listed on this page, so you can compare it line by line with anyone else's.

How much do SEO audit services cost in the UK?

UK agencies that publish a price charge roughly £500 to £2,500 plus VAT for a standalone audit. With us the audit is the first month's work inside the Starter SEO retainer at £495 a month, rolling monthly with no lock-in. If you want the audit on its own, we scope it against your site and quote before starting.

What is the difference between a free SEO audit and a full one?

A free audit is quick triage: it flags the obvious problems, and ours carries no obligation and no payment. The full audit is the whole picture, checked by a person: technical, content, links, competitors and AI visibility, ordered into a plan. They are different tools, so start with the free one and upgrade only if it finds something worth digging into.

More about how the audit works

Do we have to hire you to fix what the audit finds?

No. The report is yours, and handing it to your own developer is a normal outcome, not a disappointment. If you would rather we did the work, we quote it separately or fold it into the monthly retainer. The audit is priced to stand alone, so nobody here needs to upsell you to make it worthwhile.

How long does a full SEO audit take?

About two weeks for a normal-sized business site. Large sites, ecommerce catalogues and sites with a messy history take longer, and we say so before starting rather than during. The slow part is the human checking, which is also the part you are paying for.

What access do you need from us?

Viewer access to your Google Analytics and Search Console, which lets us read data but change nothing. We do not need your CMS login to run the audit. If you cannot share access, we can still work from the crawl and public data, though the findings lose some sharpness.

How often should we re-run an audit?

Once a year is enough for most sites. The exceptions are big changes: a migration, a redesign, a platform switch or a sharp traffic drop after a Google update. Between those moments, spend the budget on fixing what the last audit found instead of buying the same findings twice.
