01 — The service

What Managed SEO Services Are, And Who They Suit

The short version: one retainer, one team, every part of the job covered, and a report to prove it.

Managed SEO services are the done-for-you version of search engine optimisation. Instead of buying a one-off audit or a project with an end date, you pay one team a monthly retainer. That team runs the lot: technical work, page copy, new content, links, local visibility and reporting. You set the direction and approve each plan. The doing is ours.

This page exists for one situation. You know your website should bring in more enquiries, but nobody in the business has the time or the training to make that happen. So you hand the whole job over, and the team answers for it every month. Our SEO services hub covers everything we do; this page is the version where you do almost none of it.

It is not the right buy for everyone, though. If you enjoy the work and only want a map, a one-off SEO audit will serve you better. And if you are not sure anything is wrong yet, start with the free SEO review and spend nothing finding out.

02 — What's included

What A Fully Managed SEO Service Includes Each Month

Every channel, one retainer. This is the work behind the invoice.

Ask three agencies what their managed SEO services include and you will get three different lists. So here is ours in full, because you cannot judge a retainer you cannot see into.

The six channels, one by one

  • Technical health. Keeping Google able to crawl, load and index the site: broken pages, redirects, speed, structured data. Month one starts with the same crawl our technical SEO audit runs.
  • On-page work. Titles, headings, internal links and page copy tuned to the searches your buyers type.
  • Content. New pages and articles, planned against real research and written to be read. Our SEO content services page shows that work in detail.
  • Links. Steady, honest link building that stays inside Google's published spam policies, because shortcuts here are how sites get penalised.
  • Local visibility. Your Business Profile and the map results, covered in depth on our local SEO page.
  • Tracking and reporting. Search Console and Analytics set up in your name, and a plain-English report every month.

Site moves are covered too. If you are changing platform or domain while we work together, our SEO migration services handle it inside the same engagement, scoped honestly if the job is big.

03 — How it works

How Our Managed SEO Services Run: The First 90 Days

Not categories of work. The actual schedule, dated, the one we run on every new site.

Every agency in this market says it does technical SEO, content and links. Almost none show the order, the dates, or who does what. So here is the first-90-days plan behind our managed SEO services, published in full. You should be able to see the work before you pay for it.

The plan flexes with the site, though. A 40-page brochure site and a 4,000-product shop do not need the same first month, so treat the dates as the default rather than a contract.

From month four the rhythm settles: a plan agreed up front, the work done, and a report showing what changed. Your side stays light on purpose. Expect one call at the start, sign-off on each plan, and access to the site. After that, most clients spend under an hour a month on us, which is rather the point of handing it over.

01

Weeks 1–2: audit and access

We take over Search Console, Analytics and the CMS, run a full crawl, and check every finding by hand. You get the fix list in plain English.

02

Weeks 3–6: fixes and on-page

The technical repairs go live first, because content built on a broken site is wasted. Then titles, headings and internal links get rewritten page by page.

03

Weeks 7–12: content and links

New pages target the searches your buyers type, checked against the live results first. Link work starts once there is something worth linking to.

04 — Proof of work

How You Know The Work Is Actually Happening

The question underneath every other question we get asked. Fair. Here is the answer.

Most people who ask about managed SEO services have been burned before. They paid a monthly invoice, got a PDF of graphs, and could never point at the work itself. Because that fear is fair, we build the answer into the service instead of asking for trust.

Every month you get a written report listing the tasks completed, in plain English, next to the plan they came from. The changes sit on your website, where you can look at them. And Search Console runs in your name from day one, so the traffic data is yours to check, not ours to present.

What we cannot show you yet is a UK case study with hard numbers. Digital Movement UK is the new British arm of an agency that grew up in Australia, so the numbers we have are not British ones. Instead of inventing any, we point at what we have published in full: our teardown of Bupa's search visibility, built on real data. Read it and judge the standard for yourself.

As for who touches your account: a small London team, and you can see exactly who on our who-we-are page. The person on your monthly call is the person who planned the work. No account layer, no script.

05 — What it costs

What Managed SEO Services Cost, And What Changes The Number

£495 a month is the Starter retainer. Rolling monthly, no lock-in, and the audit is inside it, not on top.

Managed SEO services cost £495 a month here, as our Starter retainer. It rolls monthly with no lock-in, which keeps the pressure to earn the fee where it belongs: on us. The first month's audit, the fixes, the content and the reporting all come out of that one figure, with no setup fee bolted on.

Two things honestly change the number. Site size is one, because a 4,000-product shop needs more hours than Starter carries; our ecommerce SEO page explains why. Competitiveness is the other. Growth and Market Leader tiers cover both, but they are scoped per client, so we will not print a made-up figure for them here.

Against the alternatives: an in-house hire means salary, software, recruitment and management time, and the person still needs direction. Doing it yourself is free but slow, and most owners stall at the technical layer. A retainer you can cancel next month is the low-risk way to find out what the work is worth. For the wider market picture, our guide to what SEO costs in the UK lays out every band we could verify. And our pricing page shows the tiers side by side.

06 — The honest bit

What We Will Not Do, And What You Keep If You Leave

The limits of the offer, in writing, before you sign anything.

We will not guarantee a ranking, because nobody outside Google controls one. Anyone promising position one is telling you something they cannot know. Nor will we sign you up when a one-off job serves you better; sometimes the honest recommendation is a single one-off audit and a list your own developer works through. And padding reports with impressive-sounding numbers is out too.

The Starter retainer also has edges, and you should see them before you sign. £495 buys a set amount of work each month. It is enough to move a normal small-business site steadily. It will not out-muscle a national brand in a brutal market, though, and we will say which situation you are in on the first call.

Then there is the part almost no agency puts in writing: what happens if you leave. Everything we build runs in your name from the start, so leaving costs you nothing you already own.

The ownership clause

If you leave, you take everything with you

The Search Console and Analytics properties, the content we wrote, the keyword research and every report are yours, not ours. We hand over access within five working days of you telling us, with no exit fee and nothing held back. No promise on this page means much without this one.

07 — Timelines

How Long Managed SEO Takes To Show Up In Enquiries

Months, not weeks. Anyone who says otherwise is selling the calendar, not the work.

The honest range: expect the first measurable movement between month three and month six, longer in competitive markets. That is not hedging. Google's own guidance on hiring an SEO says most changes need four months to a year to show. No retainer changes how Google works.

What we measure in the meantime is deliberately boring: pages indexed, positions on the terms that matter, and enquiries. Because a ranking that never rings the phone is a vanity number, enquiries are the line we take seriously. We still track rankings, but they are the means, not the score. Each report tracks those three against the plan, so a flat month is visible rather than buried.

And if month six arrives with nothing moving, we say so out loud and talk about whether to carry on. No lock-in only means something if that conversation stays real. Managed SEO pays off when each month's work builds on the last, and the report is where you watch that happen.

08 — Questions

Questions People Ask Before Handing SEO Over

The seven that decide it, answered the same way we do on the phone.

What are managed SEO services?

Managed SEO services are a monthly retainer where one team runs every part of your SEO for you. That covers the technical health of the site, the page copy, new content, links, local visibility and the reporting. You approve the plan and read the results; the team does the work. Some agencies call the same thing fully managed SEO or SEO management. The label changes, the job does not.

How much do managed SEO services cost?

Our Starter retainer is £495 a month, rolling monthly with no lock-in, and the first month's audit is included in it. Bigger or more competitive sites need our Growth or Market Leader tiers, which are scoped per client rather than sold at a printed price. Across the UK market the same label covers everything from a few hundred pounds a month to several thousand, so always ask what the hours buy.

Am I locked into a contract, and can I cancel?

No lock-in, genuinely. The retainer rolls month to month and you can stop it whenever it stops earning its keep. When you leave, the Search Console and Analytics properties, the content, the research and the reports go with you, handed over within five working days, with no exit fee.

More questions about handing the work over

Who actually does the work on my account?

A small London team you can see on our who-we-are page. The person on your monthly call is the person who planned and checked the work, not an account handler reading someone else's notes. Small caps how many clients we take on, but it is also why nothing gets lost between departments.

How long until managed SEO services show results?

Plan on three to six months before measurable movement, longer in competitive markets. Google's own guidance says most SEO changes take four months to a year to show. An agency promising page one in weeks is describing luck or something riskier, and either way it is not a plan.

Can you guarantee a number one ranking?

No, and we would be lying if we said yes. Google decides rankings and promises nothing to anyone, including agencies. What we can guarantee is the work itself: the plan agreed up front, done, and reported in plain English every month, on a retainer you can cancel.

Do you need access to my website and my accounts?

Yes. We need the CMS, Search Console and Analytics, and if any of those do not exist yet we set them up in your name, not ours. That detail matters, because it is what makes the ownership clause real: your accounts, your data, your history, whoever you work with next.
